Getting It On the Center Stand!
I'm a newbie since November. Some of you may have seen my postings about how hard it was for me to get on the center stand. Well... I bought the bike in NC and immediately rode it back to NW Houston. I began a learning program to do my own maintenance and to inventory were I was. One of the first priorities was new rubber. Front was pretty much gone. Past owner put a "new" rear on prior to pickup, so I didn't get too concerned since it was "new". Turned out he put a jap tire on the rear, 160/60! I just replaced both with ME880's. Funny thing! It hops right up on the stand now. The difference in a 60 and a 70 rear profile is HUGE!. Sits a LOT higher, too. I feel silly, but I was concerned with the obvious worn out front and felt a little comfortable with a "new" rear. Not only was it hard to get on the stand but I wonder how much risk I took riding 1400 miles on a very wrong rear tire!
