05 driver seat on 02 LT

Does anyone know if an 05 stock drivers seat will fit a 2002 K1200LT? I recently found one at a salvage yard and it appears to be lower than my stock seat with a higher back rest. For $50 I was going to make the purchase just to get my short legs closer to the ground. Is there a web site that I can cross reference the Beamer part numbers to be sure it will work before I make the "no return" purchase? It is heated also.

The 05 seat does not fit the earlier bikes.

There is a low seat option for bike 1999-2004. You have to trim the side panels under the seat to make it fit...

I guess it's possible that the 05 seat may fit if you trimmed the fairing panels.

As Ted said the new model seat does not fit right away in older bike. But the modification needed is not very big. The upper edges of the side panels need to be trimmed away. Also some trimming might be needed in the height adjuster area, but it should not be too tough job.

Generally the new model seat is less comfortable than the older seat, which is the result of making the seat to better fit shorter riders.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the info. Looks like I need to get a corbin or other aftermarket to get closer to the ground and more comfortable

I have custom leather, heated seats (rider and passenger) for a 2002 that Cee Baileys made from my stock seats. The seat is flatter than the stock seat and I think it is lower too. I didn't like it because I have a boney ass and the seat doesn't have as much padding as the stock seat. Another thing I didn't like is the heating elements for both seats are controlled by one switch on the rider seat. I had them on the LT for a couple of thousand miles and ended up buying a set of Rick Mayer seats before heading out to CCR last year. I will be glad to let you try them if you will pay the shipping. If you like them I will swap even for your stock seats. If you are interested, send me a PM...
