Maintenance-o-rama!

I'm getting ready to tear everything down into little pieces tonight:

48,000 mile fuel and air filters and valve clearance check - It will probably need valve adjustment this time.

New slave cylinder and seals are en-route too for replacing later next week.

I've been reading too many threads on this site and decided to upgrade the throttle cables too while everything is apart.

I just ordered a braided stainless Spiegler brake hose set too - just for fun.

I did forget to buy tranquilizers but I think I can find something in the cabinet...

Let the fun begin!!!

Joe, I did my slave last weekend. I have the 30mm socket and allen wrench set if you need them. Have a supply of valve shims also. PM me if you need anything.

Awesome - I will Dan thanks!

I have the sockets but won't know about valve shims until I take a look tomorrow.

6 Intakes and 6 exhausts were at the minimum limits at 36,000 miles so I'm sure I'll need to do some swapping.

I'll let you know what I find.

I saw some of the threads where you had trouble getting the 30mm ring to break loose. I'm glad you got the slave finished - it gives me some encouragement that it can be done.

I'm sitting here in the wings listening to you guys. I know it will not be too long before I'm in the same boat! CooK1e, the throttle cable idea sounds great! My LT has a hard/sluggish throttle roll on.

Mine was "hard & sluggish" too, then it got just a little bit worse... next day it broke and I had to be towed home.
Mine is torn down in my garage right now. Plastic gets fatigued after a few years and two of the three top mounting tabs broke, and the front fender had major cracks from the side mounting bolts. I replaced both the nose and the fender and should get them back from the painter on Monday. While it has been down I've cleaned up a bunch of wiring making it look better and installing a Centech fuse box. I will change fluids before it goes back together too. A couple more weeks and it will be good as new.
