Question What differentials for what years?

I have been browsing for a nearly new diff from a triked LT to replace the one on my 1999 LT that has 40K miles on it. Is there any difference year to year that I need to be concerned about like the ABS pickup, driveshaft splines or anything else?

My thought was to put on the newer diif and keep the old one boxed on the shelf just in case the new bearing design isn't as reliable as hoped. Replacing the bearing isn't such a big deal for me, but having a spare is more attractive.

The 99-01 final drives have separate ABS and speedo sensors, and therefore a separate hole in the top outside face of the the drive for the speedo sensor. Therefore, your '99 can't use an '02 or later final drive.
