Well now that I have a GPS any suggestions on how and where to mount it on the LT? Also any trip programming assistance would be appreciated.

BMR Co-pilot shelf. I just mounted one last night and if I can do it, ANYBODY can. Good looking unit and really fits well. I have not put anything on it yet but I have a Tom Tom one that will go from the bike to the car.

I have mine mounted with a RAM mount that is attached to the of the clutch res. My Zumo sits just above the audio controls on the left grip. If not mounted in just the right spot, it will interfere with your view of the left mirror.

Check out the pics on my gallery. There are a couple of shots of the Garmin 2610.

I've had it there for 3 years. Works perfect.

Thumbs up Shelf ...

I prefer the shelf with the GPS in the middle. Just a glance down without taking the eyes to far off the road. Are you going to make it to the STC? Be great to ride with you again. In the mean time I can send you pictures of the 550 I mounted on my LT.

Have a look at this!

I'm really proud of this piece of work.

Mounted all this stuff then took a spin around the Grand Canyon. NEVER looked at the speedo as I quickly got addicted to the speed readout on the Zumo.

This wired back into the Autocom system so I heard the lady giving me directioins, and the Escort 9500 on the right over rode everything else so when it went off, you slowed down fast as it was so loud (but not painful). Although it looks like the radar detector is at an odd angle, it's the close view with a big camera lens that makes it look that way. I angled the detector right at me and didn't like it as much as having it parallel to the front/rear of the bike. It's attached with a large piece of Velcro and holds VERY tight. I took it and the Zumo 550 off at every rest stop and locked it up. About a 30 second job.

The Zumo is on a RAM mount that needed 3 screws to hold it into the BMR shelf. That's the XM/NavTraffic antenna on the left, held on by the magnetic base it came with (I had to screw the steel base it came with on to the BMR shelf). I can't tell you how perfect this setup was and how easy it was to get it installed perfectly. Below the antenna is the SmartTire. The only thing I didn't like about that is the tiny button you have to touch to get it to read out the info. Tough to do when riding.

EVERYTHING on the shelf was easy to see, hear, and touch, and is directly in my line of site while being completely out of the way. Not distracting at all - even at night. You shift your eyes only inches to go from the road to the gear and back. It's more difficult to look at the BMW dashboard!

Email if you need more info.
