dumb question i know. reasr transmission seal??

I have looked closer at the seal from the rear of the transmission or gearbox, because it looks wet. the one that the drive shaft is connected to. Now upon looking closely, i began to smell gas. It appears the wet spot is not oil or gear fluid, but smells like gas, and is thin like gas. Am I loosing my marbles??? Why would there be gas dripping there?? Anyone know. Makes no sense, but then again, i'm not a mechanic, just mechanicly inclined. lol Any suggestion??? thank you.

It is probably the fuel "quick disconnects" on the right side of the engine. They tend to leak. Do a search on this topic and you will find more than you need to know about how to check it, repair/replace them if needed, etc.
