Smile rear shock replacement

For those of you who have replaced your rear shock, did you have to take off the tank as the manual suggests or were you able to get a wrench under it to loosen the top bolt? thanks

don't remove the tank unless you have bear paws for hands. I was able to get under it. Just make sure you get on the right bolt under the tank. there are two of them there, and I spent a lot of time on the wrong one. Learn as you go I suppose.

Take off several of the right fairing attachments, and loosen several more. Take a tennis ball and slide it under the plastic to gently bend the fairing away from the frame while you work.

You'll need to take the battery out and do a little gymnastics to get the nut on the top mounting bolt - it's really pretty easy.
