Rear Bearing Croaked

23000 miles and the large ball bearing bearing in the rear died. I guess from what I hear this is a cronic problem in the diff??

And, is it better to replace the unit or rebuild it? Have heard stories of the inexperienced shop hands actually creating a greater issue. Is there an option from the owners perspective???

If you're in Rock Hill, your nearest dealer is in Charlotte. That one I would trust to rebuild it and get it right. That's the course of action I'd go with if I were in your shoes.

if you get it rebuilt, check and see what kind of warranty there is, if any, and get it in writing. Charlotte Bmw does good work.
