New Radio?

Hi All
Please help me here, I went to look at my new black 08(?) which is being unpacked at the dealer. I already have an Ocean Blue (06) which they (BMW) are replacing for various reasons as explained in a previous post. My observations are that the passenger "running board" type footrest that's on my 06 has been replaced with the old '99 style footpeg. (Downgrade)? I was also expecting the new radio which I saw on a post on this site but cannot find it for the life of me. It shows the existing radio but with knobs on the top of the radio and an Aux plug on the front face. Am I correct in saying that there was an "upgrade" to the radio so that you can plug in an iPod through an easily accesible front port? If so, please send me a photo of the new system so that I can show my dealer. Why has BMW decided to cheapen the bike by installing puny looking passenger footpegs. I always thought that the "running board" was a feature of the bike!

It does have the new Xenon headlight!

I would rather be riding my bike and thinking about God than sitting in Church thinking about my bike!

Regards
Allen

The passenger footplates are an option not standard equipment. On my US 07 I had to pay about US$ 300.00 extra for them. My 07 came with the VoiceII comm system as standard. It has a large knob on top, a single CD player and has jacks facing the driver for AUX and cell phone. It also has wiring on top of the tank for the Nav III gps. Bikes built for export to other parts of the world may be different.

My 06 came with CHROME passenger foot boards. It also had the Chrome luggage rack with the LED brake light. The COMM II with single CD and BIG knob for adjust mostly intercom speaker functions and was wired for the GPS cause BMW was offering the Motoraad III free. There wasn't any additional listed on the buyers order. It's got enough chrome around the foot rest area it looks like a Harley.. lol

The passenger floorboards are an option that cost around $350.00. The VoiceCom II with single CD player and the large knob on the top of the unit in the oddments box is the standard com system on the 06 model.
