Big difference in MPG with temperature.
When I purchased my bike in Florida I was rewarded with a 52 MPG 1,100 mile trip home. Lately though, it seems my mileage has been suffering. One night driving home in 27 degree temperature I was getting 34 MPG, very disappointing. I thought maybe it was a dirty air filter, etc.
Yesterday while driving to work in 68 degree heat (weird for NJ autumn) the bike was getting 48 mpg, WOW! That's the best it's been in a while. Now, later on that evening when the temps dropped to 53, the mileage dropped to 44-42.
The bike has received a canisterectomy from the previous owner, and the bike still has >5000 miles. I have not done any oil or filter maint since I have owned it.
Does this bike vary that greatly with temp or can I be experiencing something different?
