Wink Switching wheels? R1100S with K1200LT

Anyone know if the brake disk is removed from a R1100S rear wheel that it might be used on the rear of an LT? They look a lot alike.

Looking for a cheap/scarred rear wheel to use as a spare for the rear of my LT.
If I ever have a flat on the road, my SO could deliver my spare to me and a wrench and in 10 minutes I could be on my way again. I hate to spend the dough they want for a new rear wheel. Ugh!

The charts I've looked at makes me think it might fit. But I'm not sure all will clear (disk mounting shoulders) when the S wheel is mounted on my LT.

Any thoughts appreciated.........................OR am I just dreaming!

Bought used K1200LT number 3. This one is green/teal with 31,369(now 7/29/2018 54,143) miles and is an '02. The first 2 bikes made it to near 150,000 miles.

Due to heart health, the Dr says not to ride under 40 degree air temp. Ugh! Now it is harder to get my 18000 miles a year in just in the summer. Guess that stopped my 20 degree rides now.

Wheel

I know the LT FRONT wheel is a lot stronger, and you can not safely substitute at that end. Don't know for sure about the rear. Why not buy a rear for an LT from the wreckers like cycles recycled?

Guess I may be wrong, they did make a 5" wheel on the non-sport "S"

Thumbs up deal on ebay

Guess I could do that, but it would be more money than I have to spend. The $50 R1100S rear 5" rim is enticing to me on Ebay.

I guess no one here has done it so I'll look elsewhere for a deal. LOL

Thanks for the input though!
