Anybody Have a Cee Bailey "Euro Cut"?

Okay guys.....I'm still focused on a new CB shield and, from info you have offered in my other thread, I was ready to order a #2, -4. Then, on the Cee Bailey website, I see that they offer a "Euro Cut" and pictured is an RT or something. No pics of an LT anywhere.

Does anyone have a CB Euro Cut on their LT?

How does it compare with a CB #2?

How does it compare with a BMW Euro?

Can anyone post a pic or two? Please.

I welcome any info to help with this dilema.

Bob

I went through the same wonderment, so I called them

the Euro cut is available in both the #1 and the #2 windshields,
the difference is in the shape of the top edge of the windshield,
they are both the same height in the center of the top of the shield.

I would have went with the #2 -2 Euro,
but I found a used one from a forum member (no Euro)

if I were to buy another I would go #2 -3 Euro,
I'm 6' tall and always look over the windshield

Hi Bob,

here is CB #2 -4 Euro cut w/wings. The yellow bike has the same but -5.

The Euro cut has the same height as the standard cut when measured on the centerline of the shield. The upper corners are higher and thus they should give a bit better shoulder protection. Plus the more straight upper edge gives a less "scooter-ish" look, IMHO.

Regards

Thumbs up

Hans, SiBuffalo & Ari,

Many thanks to you all. Ari - Pics sealed the deal for me.

I believe I have enough to make this decision. I plan to call CB this week, and order a new shield.

Cee Baileys Euro Cut Looks the best on the K1200LT

Gentlemen:

Gearing up for my cross country road trip I did the whole windshield research thing here too.

I went with the Cee Baileys Euro Cut #2 with a +2.

At the end of the May 15-October 15 BMW owners milage competition I have rode over 16,000 miles with the new shield and I am a big fan and give it two thumbs up!

At 6 foot 4 I wanted to be able to see over the shield in the low position so that in the rain I could get a good air blast to clear my helmet visor.

I of course did a DA move in measuring add vs. subtract brain fart.
So, I probably could have gone with a standard size and been good enough and well protected in an up position.

Let me say the standard BMW shiled that was on the bike felt like someone was boxing my ears at highway speeds.

I have been super happy and of course the Euro cut maintains the BMW style.
I have seen a lot of Harleys that all have a big round top so I wanted to stay true to the BMW original lines.

Good Luck and enjoy the ride.

I will try to upload a picture here or you can see my bike at

My experience with Eurocut..

I have a #2-4 eurocut, no wings. I'm 5'10 with a 32 inch inseam, and it was the only size that sat low enough to completely keep the top of the windshield out of my line of sight. I like it. The only thing I've noticed is I think the buffeting on the back of the helmet is stonger, and a little more turbulence for the passenger. Also, I believe the #2 with the lip at the top isn't as streamlined, as the original resulting in more drag force on the windshield lifters and I have to slow down to get the thing up. Otherwise it's the perfect size for me.
