Question Sidestand length?

I think I recall some discussion about sidestands being different lengths on earlier vs. later model LTs. Does anyone know where I can find that old thread or does someone know the different lengths and how to measure the sidestand. I lowered my '99 LT using Wilburs parts and need a shorter sidestand to match.

Maybe this?

IIRC I copied this from the post you are referring to, so I don't know who deserves the credit.
Hope this helps!
YMMV and all the other disclaimers.

Figure out where you want it, cut it, and have a new foot welded on.

Use the $100 you saved on something a little more interesting!

Thanks for the drawing. That was what I was looking for. From the parts fiche, it looks like the new one is the only one available. Anyone know why they made the change? When?

Best guess is (a) to reduce risk of toppling to the right (e.g. from gust of wind) and (b) sometime in 2001.
