Roadside Repair

Had my first roadside repair this morning. Nothing bad, just the latch on the top lid. My question is, should there be a washer on that screw?

??? Are you talking about the oddments box cover or the top of the rear case?

What screw? Your description is a little vague and I canít picture it.

It's the compartment lid right under the radio controls. The screw I'm talking about is the one that holds the latch post to the lid. I could not find a washer, but the whole looks almost bigger than the screw head.

There is no washer on mine. The hole is a little concave to let the screw seat nearly flush.

Blessings!

I know it sounded like a stupid question.

At least you didn't ask why your bike smokes after you leave it parked on the kick stand!

Blessings!
