Contragulate Me (I hope)

Just purchased a used LT with EVERYTHING
6500 miles, even has heat controllers for vests, CB all the bells, not a scratch on it. 18.5k is that a reasonable deal? I don't care... I love it!!

Went to the dealer to test ride an R1200rt and ended up with the bus!

A 2005. Pictures coming when I pick it up next Saturday (I feel like a child at Christmas). The dealer is 60 miles away but I bet it will be a 150+ mile ride home!!!!

I'd love to congratulate you. But in reality, I'm feeling a little sorry for you. You said you, "Just purchased a used LT with EVERYTHING". You have no idea what abuse your wallet is in for! You can't possibly know what "everything" is. BMW doesn't equip them like that. You're at least 4 to $5000 dollars away from "EVERYTHING"!

No, but really. Congrats on your new purchase, and welcome to the loony bin. You bought an amazing machine!

So, you are taking the short route then.

Garage
I suppose he could do a 10/10ths on the way home, but he might at least want to get some practice on the bike first.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Cool

I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD PURCHASE ONE THAT CLOSE TO HOME! I thought you had to be at least 500 miles from purchase point!

EVERYTHING? What is everything? I haven't reached that point yet! Don't know that I want to get there either.
ROFLMAO!!!!

Congrats! Have Fun and be safe doing it!

Watch out for tip-overs!

Congrats on your new ride--for long distance, high-speed stuff you're going to love it. Not like the Harley at all--at 85 it'll feel like 60 on the Harley!

HOWEVER...you should be aware that the LT is much more top-heavy than your previous bike, and very unstable under 5MPH or so until you get used to it, especially since the front end doesn't dive at all on braking. Practice in a parking lot for a while to avoid embarrassment and back strain trying to right it. Also, when you use the side stand, leave the transmission in gear and take up the slack before dismounting. Mine fell over the second day I had it just because when I opened the top case I must have given it an ever-so-slight nudge forward. Unlike with the Harley side stand, there's no "catch" to keep this from happening.

Sounds like you got a great deal! Now, keep the shiny side up!
