How to attach to the top case?

I want to attach a teddy bear to the back of a top case with no luggage rack. I have thought about using bungee cords but want to be able to open the top case with out undoing anything.
Has anyone worked this problem out?
Thanks in advance,

I believe if you pop over to one of the Wing Boards, they will have the answer for that. I'm sure they have it covered 1001 different ways....

Red face

I drilled four 3/8th inch holes in my topcase to mount my "Clifford" dog. Carefully drilled 'em in the spaces between the chrome rack.

I chamfered the holes with a good sharp Dremel bit to avoid cracks in the future, and mounted Clifford with some nice chrome hex head bolts and rubber washers. Also added a "safety wire" mounted to the inside of the case, so's not to lose my beloved stuffed pet! Used a propane torch to soften the plastic, and "welded" an eyelet under the lid.

My brother's sister in law's cousin gave me this stuffed red dog when I got home from a tour in Nigeria....so I don't want to lose it!!!

A very clean install, IMO.

Garage
Is this what you meant? I did this on last year's Toys in the Sun Run. "Li'l Joe" rode behind me the whole way. Didn't even lose his Santa hat. I tied him up to the top case real good with some thin white nylon cord, looped around the top case hinges, which still gave me access to the top case. If you want something more permanent, somebody in here is bound to know how to do it. Especially the guy whose post is just above mine

Mascot mounting

Hi
Just a suggestion, you do not have to use the top box to mount a mascot.
My bike is in Toscana Green, we call it the Jolly Green Giant. Purchased a Jolly Green Giant mascot and he hangs on around the base of the radio aerial.
Done Europe several times and he is still hanging in, always raises a smile among passers by. Picture on it,s side, but I hope you get the idea.

Progressed to K12 via a K100RT and two K1100LT,s. Must say the K1100,s are much faster, nimbler and easier and cheaper to maintain. K12 now done 24k, been totally reliable and is the touring bike of our dreams.

Happy and safe miles to you all. Gillboy
