Many of us would feel blessed if our speedos only read 1-2% higher.
When my wife and I took an LT for a test ride, we both marveled at how quiet and smooth it was at 70 MPH! Little did we know our speed was a lot closer to 60 than 70.
When the speed limit was 55, I'd try and maintain a 60 MPH speed on the interstate running through Tucson. My first reaction was disbelief at how many people went speeding way to fast pass me. Then I wondered about the speedo, but decided German's love for precision couldn't tolerate an inaccurate speedo.
When I brought it in for a tune up, there was a flat spot when accelerating, and to have the speedo checked, I was told the speedos were all off by about 10%, and there was a problem with the computer program, causing the flat spot.
People in this group figured out how to bypass the faulty programming, and how to modify the speedo so that it was within 1-2 MPH.
