engine noise

I have a question. I have an 06. do lts have noisy valve train. at 2000 to 3000 rpm there is a tapping noise and like a loose valve. If I pull the clutch in and rev the engine up and down between 2000 and 3000 I can definitely hear it tapping. cant seam to hear sitting still. to much other noises (vibrations )

I've heard this and asked the same thing. Folks 'round here have re-assured me that it's NOT THE VALVES, but rather the injectors making that noise.

Only assurances I have are these folk's reputation and fact I did my 12K valve check and all was OK then. 160 miles to 24K, guess what I'm doing again soon. <g>.

Re: engine noise

I have an 05 LT and it has the same clacking/valve sound at 3000 to 5000 rpm and it did this before and after a dealer valve adjustment job so it really may not be the valves.

Re: engine noise

Normal. Turn up the stereo.

Also the valves wear tight (seat wear) as opposed to loose (cam and follower)on the LT. If they wear loose you have a serious problem.

Re: engine noise

It's the injectors, and can easily be proven.

Disconnect all your injectors, and the noise goes away.
