Smile Alaska Adventure - 4th Time's the Charm- Pt 1

Well, my brother, Paul and I just completed our big trip to the great north country.

After my 4th trip, I think I finally got it right. Paul and I planned the trip for almost a year, and it turned out to be the best of all in so many ways.

First, the route...the most scenic way to get there from KC.
Next, the weather...enabling us to see ALL the mountain peaks (except Denali)
Third, the mix of camping and motelling...a shower all but two nights.
Fourth, the timing...start mid-June to the see most snow on the mountains and least rain.

Attached is an MSWord document telling our tale. It's long, but hope there is some good reference for others wanting to experience and Alaska Adventure of your own.

It is so doable on any reasonable well maintained bike. The roads are much better, and the Cassiar is not to be feared, but to be enjoyed.

PS; tried to attach, but file is too large... will break into smaller pieces

Finally part three.

If you got this far, you must be serious about Alaska.

By now, you must know that you are going to Alaska, or have been and are going to do it again! No doubt about it.

Hope you enjoyed it.

John,
Great write up and pics! Thanks for sharing. It made me think that I may need to visit Alaska by bike one day.
