Smile Not another problem bike thread

Just to balance some of the often posted stories of regret about the LT and the various problems associated with it I would like to say that I have about 50K miles on my 2000 K1200LT (okay, low mileage but I do have three other bikes that ask to be ridden) and I wouldn't trade the K1200LT for any bike available today. That includes newer model K1200LTs. This 2000 is a wonderful bike.

This bike has been great, no more problems than any other machine I have owned and I have had a few. It is a huge pleasure to ride, a great combination of comfort, performance, and sport.

Curtis... I could not agree with you more I too ride a 2000 KLT with 34,000 miles on the clock. Hey I've only had it 2 years bought it with less then 13,000. Anyway it is a great bike

Admittedly, it is still very early in my LT experience (I picked up the bike just before Memorial Day) but it amazes me every time I ride it and I'll just take whatever bad comes with the good. 'Cause when she's good...

Cheers,

No other way...

Don't claim to know how to ride good, don't know how to fix much yet on it, but test rode many other bikes at Americade this year, and I wouldn't ride anything else. Only 37,000 miles in two years including in some snow... Just going to keep on riding it!!!

My 2000 Lt has a little over 7K miles now.. The only issue I have is the ABS lights blinking... Mechanically it ROCKS... Pleasure to ride... Love the way it floats through traffic.

I'm a new 05 LT owner, unfortunately this summer I've had some back issues and haven't been able to get out and ride as much as I'd like. I do have my cb #2 windshield ordered and my day-long saddle ordered. I love the bike, can't wait to take it on a long trip!

Bought my '99 LT in February with 18k miles on it; now has 25k and has been a pleasure to ride. Dependable, powerful, and just a nice bike.

My other bike is a 2000 Sporty; dependable, not as powerful, but a nice bike as well. I've done some mechanical work on it (1200 conversion, cams, intake, exhaust; 71/68 hp/tq).

Around town, I choose the Sporty; open road, the LT. Hands down.

I have an '03 LTC with about 25K on the clock. I bought it a little over 2 years ago with 800 miles on it. I have had very little trouble at all.. I wouldn't trade it for anything. It has been very reliable and a dream to ride. Everytime I get on it, I have trouble getting off it because I just don't want to stop..

The LT Rocks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'll chime in, but it doesn't mean much. I bought my 03' last fall, about October I believe, and it had just over 6,000 miles on it. Since then I've put about 10,000 on it with no trouble at all other than the blinking ABS lights. Got info on how to fix that here, and haven't had anything since.

(Unless you count dropping it.)
