QDQ #31: Power-socket on engine?

Quick-Dumb-Question, lacking an owner manual: there is a power socket on the left side, down low towards the shifter. I have "something" plugged into it; wire runs off under the tupperware. What IS it?
(My battery has been draining while sitting, so...looking for electrogremlins).
Thanks

That is the power outlet on the left side that is intended for auxiliary power use by the user. You can pulug in heated clothing, 'farkles" whatever your heart desires. Obviously your bike must have had a previous owner and they have used it, but what you have plugged into it is anyones guess.

I would guess this to be a good potential source for what is draining your battery since this outlet is powered even if the bike ingnition is off. I would look for an accessory that has been added to the bike (maybe a comm system?)

This is commonly used by board members as a locaitn to plug in their battery tender output to keep the battery fresh when the bike is stored for longer periods of time.

Hope that helps,

Randy

Thanks, neighbor!
I guess, based on your post, I'd be safe to unplug it. I can't see any extra farkles.
