CD Player Removal

I've searched but most are replacing the 6 disc player with something else. I just want to remove it. Can I just unplug it and take it out? Will the single disc player still work? Are there any other issues?

I have just removed mine last night. Total of 4 bolts of which 2 plastic and 2 metal ones. Single CD works OK.

changer removal

Pulled the changer out of my 01 last week with no problem. It's nice to have that extra space. Are there any suggestions on how to "bundle" or secure the remaining pigtail? I don't really want to start removing tupperware at this time to take out the entire harness.

I just coiled it up, placed in a small baggie, and zip-tied that in place.

Making good use of the wires?

That damn CD shuttle is now destined for the same fate as the 8 track player. If one removes it as you suggest, is there a way of wiring in your mp3 player? Just set it to shuffle and listen to the tunes. Seems simple enough, but is it? Any suggestions?

Allen, I want to know the same thing. I guess the issue would be where do you pick up the connector?

I have a Dension Ice Link that connects to your CD shuttle cable which allows me to plug my Ipod. Lots of tunes but you dont have the full capability of your Ipod/mp3. I simply shuffle before I plug it in and can advance from one song to the next autonmatically or skip songs I don't want to hear. No problems and lots better then CDs. Their web site is: http://www.dension.com/main.htm
