Smile Chrome handle on Top box

Hi, If anybody has noticed the newer LTs have a nice chrome handle fitted to the rear of the top box. Apparently this will be available as a retro fit to older bikes. BMW have got a part number for it "7 700 656", but the kit is only just coming off the drawing board, so it could be a while until you can get one.

Lightbulb Alternative Handle from Ace

A while back someone posted info about an alternative--from Ace Hardware. It was some kind of curved handle that looked quite good. I had the part name and number written down, but can't find it just now. What ever the BMW handle costs, I'm sure the Ace one is much, much, cheaper.

Great news! At least for those folks who still want one. I did want one, but when I found out that BMW wasn't selling them separately from the top box, I resorted to different measures.

I got a simple, but eloquent, stainless steel handle from Sears hardware... $4.00
