Installing the crash pan / skid plate

Just got that bit of kit to protect the oil sump.
Was never installed on my '99 and as i have bottomed out twice now, I though ti would be a good thing to get.
Came with 2 bars and bolts, but no instructions. I can't really see where it is meant to go - any ideas?

Skid plate

the back of the plate is in line with the front of the centre stand frame that bolts to the transmision housing.

BMW did a recall/serice update I believe and they should have them. Mine never got any of the stuff it should have as the previous owner didnt get it done.
BMW supplied the parts for 50ish

Thanks all for your help - not sure yet if the bolts will come off forf me to fix this on as it is extreamly corroded under there
