K1200LT Exhaust

What is the difference between the early exhaust from 99-04 and late 05-09 and are they interchangeable. I see the covers are the same.

They have different part numbers. Not sure what the differences are. It may have to do with the engine HP increase. Don't know if it is bolt on compatible but it may be. If it is a part of the HP increase, it may be a one way compatibility as in 05-09 may fit on a 99-04 but you may not want to put a 99-04 on an 05-09 without some slight performance penalty as there were internal engine changes that the exhaust may be part of.

Re: K1200LT Exhaust

I have both exhaust systems off of LT's right now & will set them side by side today. They do have a little different sound from each other.

Re: K1200LT Exhaust

I have a 1999, 2004 & 2008 system the only difference on the outside is the 1999 system does not have center support bracket that goes over to the centerstand.

Re: K1200LT Exhaust

Today I finally got around to dissect an early and late exhaust. The late one has a bigger outlet plus inside the chamber it looks like it should have more direct and better flow. I'am having a hard time posting the pictures but when I figure it out I will post them.
