Who has the dreaded ABS fault on their bike?

I was just wondering how many have had this issue. Is there anything that can be done about it? Like disconnecting the ABS feature? Or anything else? Please help.

Plenty of troubleshooting tips for that on this forum. I personally have not had that issue, thankfully! If all troubleshooting fails, and you decide to disconnect, here's a site in Europe that provides a very nice 'second life kit'.

My front stopped working. You could ride the bike, but you had to get a good grip on the front binders . I changed the brake fluid in it every year hoping I would not have it go bad...

Anyway, I by passed it .

I get the flashing. Usually just top up the reservoirs and it goes away.

Thanks everybody! Major thanks to dlbrittell that's exactly what I need. I knew there would be a relatively simple solution to this. It was just a matter of finding it. Thanks again to everybody!

Re: Who has the dreaded ABS fault on their bike?

Hi Ray , you kind of need to keep the ABS brain on the bike . With out it in the loop , you will have no speedo . I got a flaring tool for the brake lines BMW uses . bent up a short line & connected the front master brake line to the front wheel. Then did the same in the rear, the rear was kind of bent all over to get it hooked up...But it works. So non of the flexing lines to the wheels were desturbed . I cut 2 wires in the bunch going to the ABS & took out a light bulb on the dash. There are probably better ways to do the wiring, But I have working brake lights & speedo..

Re: Who has the dreaded ABS fault on their bike?

The guy in the video kind of pissed me off really. Going on about no other bikes having linked ABS like it was some kind of weird BMW affectation. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other bikes of different makes running around today with these weird brake systems.
