Fuel Pump Maintennce - Tank On?

This probably has been covered a thousand times but I could not find. On a year 2000 K1200LT, can the fuel pump, filter and hoses be serviced without pulling off the tank? If someone can direct me to a previous thread that would be great. Thank you.

Yes they can and I did it to prove it was possible. You have to remove the right side Tupperware and the right tip over frame to fully expose the fuel pump plastic nut. Get as much fuel out of the tank as you can. It will still leak some fuel so don't do it in your living room. You will have to turn it some to get the pump and filter clear as it comes out. mark the power plug with a zip tie as there is a similar plug for the additional auxiliary plug option in the same location that uses the same plug but it is not a switched plug and is wired backwards so if you plug it in by mistake, the pump will run all the time and backwards. Mark where the pump assembly is in relation to the tank or a part on the frame so you can get it installed back in the same orientation.
