Trunk delete back rest

Has anyone figured a way to do a passenger backrest setup on the back of an LT that will make the significant other happy for travel while also eliminating the mass of the trunk? I know way back when the Fort Wayne rack was available they had an option for a back rest. I was thinking with the Factory Products Harley rack, one could be fashioned relatively easy. I like the idea of losing the high riding weight while still allowing for passenger comfort.

Any ideas?
