Front tire replacement. Yes its been covered but each year the tire compounds change.

So I am asking as of 2019 because I went through multiple replacements of my Avon
rear since the dealer had nothing but old stock and the compound, was terrible on those years and had massive sidewall rot, rapidly. Avon did replace. But I had to pull the rear wheel 3 times until the dealer finally ordered a fresh tire in from Avon with Avon insisting they do so.

Avon tires are sticky which is nice, but on the front tire, they feel good on a turn, track poorly in my opinion straight up.

I have had Michelin and Avon, have read some people having luck with Dunlap.

Thanks for any input in advance.

Safe riding.

What about the OEM Metz?
They’ve been great for me.
Incredibly durable tire, decently sticky too.

The Battlax BT020-M from Bridgestone is still available from Bikebandit for example.

It is the biased ply for heavy bikes and one of the OEM tires for the K1200LT.
I currently use the Battlax Sport Touring T31 GT from Bridgestone, bought by mistake, didn't know about the BT020 still being available, had it for almost a year, does a good job, normal wear, did the HWY1 Big Sur with it, handled the hairpin turn angles very well, and I did push it.

On my recent trip I pushed the LT so hard that I was scraping and putting on a spark show on every corner of a very curvy road in Honduras.
The Metz are pretty good I’d say.
