My Zumo 550 was having issues so I bought the Garmin 396LM. It is absolutely useless if any sunlight is hitting the screen.
Any body have a better recommendation? perhaps TOM TOM? Cost is a consideration.
He does fabulous work at very reasonable prices. He can fix the screen, replace the buttons, etc, etc. He can even set you up so you can get the very latest map sets on your SD card - the whole thing, without having to load a some of it on the hard drive and most of it on the SD card. The beauty is that when you want to update the map sets, Garmin Express recognizes the SD card as the unit itself. Yesterday, it took all of 2 minutes to load CNA 2020.2 to the card.
The 550 has the best screen going these days. Send it to Chris and let him fix it for you, then do as you will with the 395.
