I have several pairs of calipers for the front wheel. I have had to use washers to centralize the disk in the calipers. I no longer remember which set is the OEM. I believe they were tokico again not sure. Anyone know if the calipers are bike specific or year specific? Mine 2003 K1200LT with 215k+ miles on it now.
The calipers are tokiko but I have front wheels I bought over the years and didn't think there would be a difference in disk placement between model years. That is the only thing I can think of. Sorry for the delay, been super busy.
Sorry never have seen any Tokiko caliper over here so can't advise on them. The disc mounting on the wheel on the LT and the discs them selves were different between 99-2000 and 2001-2009 and they all used "brembo" brand calipers the early one said Brembo on the side and the later ones had BMW on them.
I stand corrected on Tokico calipers on BMW. My 05 has the BMW on it and I assumed they were made by Brembo but I was changing out pads the other day and embossed in the rear of the calipers was "Tokico". My Bad.
In almost 30 years of playing with telelevers I have never seeing a Tokico caliper..
Or they are BREMBO or they say BMW but they are made by Brembo, that is it, i'm afraid if you rotors don't fit is because you have the ABS sensor on the wrong side or is the wrong type or the spacers are not in the right order..
Maybe you rim is from a R11S/1150RS (then take it off, they are much lighter and they are not strong enough for the half ton K12)
Motorcycle calipers are not like Bicycle brakes that are made to fit all kind of bikes/forks, if you need to use washers you are doing something wrong elsewhere..
Not only are the front wheels different on the early 1200LT's the brake rotors are a larger diameter.
