So, just got done with changing the fuel and air filters on my 2007 K1200LT. After putting everything back together I find that my brakes are locked up, both front and rear. There is no play at all on either the front brake lever or the rear brake pedal, either with the key on or off. I obviously put something back together wrong or fried something when it was all apart. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way of bypassing or disconnecting the servo assisted brakes to see if that is the problem?
I would suspect the adjustment pin at the rear brake peddle. If that pin is set incorrectly it could bypass the point to allow fluid to circulate. Remove the right footplate to expose the rear master cylinder and this pin to ensure it is not set too high. HTH
Update: I disconnected the battery for the night. This morning the brakes were free. After reconnecting the battery and starting it up the brakes are once again fully locked. The brake failure light is flashing even when I took it for a quick spin. All fuses are intact. Obviously something is fried. Any suggestions of what to check next?
It sounds like a pressure transducer in the control circuit has failed and the ABS module thinks you are applying the brakes. Did you disconnect the battery when you did the original maintenance work?
