Abs telltale failure

Hello Guys
I purchased my 2004 k1200lt yesterday ! Very happy driving home .. radio wasn’t working so decided to have an “in invasive “ fiddle with it this morning.... tried with ignition on engine off for 15 mins maybe ..
then decided to run the engine ...
horror occurred ..! Brake failure RED Led 😮 then the telltale red also ...!
Tried all the usual with re setting arming alarm ... then charged battery ...!
But when I switch on the ignition , I get the flashing pre test but very quickly the red failure .. then ALL dash lights go out except telltale stays on ........
could I be So unlucky to have a major fault already ... is there a reset procedure for the ABS ?? Really appreciate any input if someone has had this one 😬🤔.

Re: Abs telltale failure

Did you attempt to drive? The bike needs to roll for a few seconds to gain signal from wheel circuits to confirm system is working. Lights then go out. Hoping this is your issue.

As for your radio, it may be toast. BUT try this.....disconnect the negative cable from your battery for 15-20 minutes, reconnect and give it a go in this sequence....turn key to ON position, confirm radio is off, start the motor then turn on radio. Hoping this radio reset also works for you. If not, there is a rebuild option from a fellow on this board...

Hiya - thanks for the reply 👍 ended up the battery went low in the few minutes I wasn’t playing with the radio - headlights default to on ..? While testing in neutral - ign on .. anyway I plugged into trickle charger and managed to reset the imobiliser - happy to get a new battery and the radio can wait ..! No more fiddling - enjoy riding it first 😊
