SPark plug read

2005 K1200lt 55K miles. Bike runs great. Original owner and maintenance always done. Just finished doing a bunch of maintenance on it and pulled the plugs. Here is what they look like after 4000 miles. They don't look so good to me but not sure what they are telling me. What do you guys think is going on?

Re: SPark plug read

The only way to get a real read on plugs is to kill the engine at 5,000 RPMs then pull the plugs right away. Anything else is meaningless. Number four is always "oily". The rest look just fine although the threads are oily so install them dry or with a light anti seize coating. Then check again after 12,000 total miles.

Re: SPark plug read

Thanks. Glad to hear about #4 cylinder. Mine was oily last time also. I will give it a try once I get the bike back together.
