battery voltage gs 911

hey;

middle of troubleshooting a abs trouble. hooked up my gs911. the voltage is showing 9.7 but my meter show 12.5. i also have a volt meter permanent on the bike, it show 12.4
which to believe.

PS. ordered a new battery, the one i have is at least 5 years old probably older

45 years riding and still more places to see.

Just for comparison and mine is an 01, no whizzy brakes. Went out and hooked mine up to see. Initially key off, it showed 13.2 on the tender. Key on and cold, it dropped to 11.9 and showed red but after a few seconds, it climbed back to 12.1. Nowhere near 9.7.

I have found the GS-911 voltage reading to be very accurate both key on, engine off and with engine running.

Try checking the load side of fuse F10 with your meter as it is the one feeding the diagnostic port and compare readings. May find some corrosion there.
