Putting top box back on

Just purchased a new to me 03 LT. Taking the Ft Worth rack off and putting the top box back on. Does the top box sit directly on the mounting plate or is there suppose to be a rubber grommet between them?

Re: Putting top box back on

It has been quite a while since I had my 02, but I think it sits directly on top of the plastic top. No bushing between it .. I am not 100% sure though. Maybe check the parts finch to be sure..

Re: Putting top box back on

I mount my top box on top of the rack with longer screws.

It sits directly on the rear carrier cover.

My (k1200ltrack) uses m6 x 90mm hex head bolts to install the trunk on top of the rack without removal.
Uses nylon washers between the rack and the box too.
