Hannigan trike conversion and higher rpm

Morning. I recently had my 2008 bmw 1200lt converted to trike status. The Hannigan trike uses small rear wheels than bike and of course a different differential. When a bike, 3000 rpm would produce 60 mph. As a trike it requires 3750 rpm. Iím told that since the speedo says 60 the bike is functioning properly and gear ratios are correct. Iím not familiar with how the speedo works but thought it received a signal from the front wheel. If true, the differential ratio could be off. Anyone one have any ideas ? Trike tires are R15 so smaller circumference than bike tire

I think dave Hannigan uses a Ford rear end & cuts it down to narrow it. What the final drive ratios are, or How he works the speed-0 I haven't a clue .

By design the ABS generates the speedo signal so they must have the rear ABS sensor set up on the rear wheel(s)? Just checked the manual for the trike kit and they use a reluctor ring at the input to the rear end and mount the existing ABS sensor to it for Speedo signal as it would not provide true ABS operation. One rear wheel could lock up and the drive shaft would still be turning. The reluctor ring is designed to provide the correct speedo signal for the smaller rear wheels.

Also due to the extra weight I am sure they set up a lower rear drive ratio to allow you to start rolling easier. That would yield a higher RPM for a given speed.
