V6

This could be a long shot, but BMW use their engines on other bikes.

Interesting as well:

One of the recurring rumors has been that BMW would turn to Rotax for the next-gen LT's engine. But whenever it came up, it was quickly dismissed with the reason that BMW would never outsource the engine for their Flagship.

Based on the conversation with one of the BMW Motorrad USA muckity-mucks at the Cycle World show in Ft Worth, the cost of developing a new engine would cost BMW too much. The most current and reasonable speculation is that BMW will use the current slant-4 engine from the K1200S/R/GT in the next-gen K1200LT.

Jefe, agree, but looks like most of the developement costs have already been made by ROTAX.

As I said, a long shot, but worth noting.

...or, as Babel would say ...

Again and only with ROTAX and specially for engine carriages built: 4-Takt-Motor with 800 or 1300 cm³ capacity (ROTAX V-1304), v-engine (by it deeply lying emphasis), 2 cylinders, water-cooled, 100 Nm (!) torque, generator with 500 Watts, only 4-Takt-Motor to also tilt can, without the engine or carburetor is flooded by oil. This ROTAX V-1304 engine has its own oil pump for oiling system and its own pump for oil exhaust. With these 2 ROTAX 4-Takt-Motoren BOMBARD ROTAX has the HP-STRONGEST, torque-strongest, exhaustpoorest and quietest 4-Takt engine for engine carriages in the program! Gasoline consumption is smaller around 2/3 opposite normal 2-Takter. Reply With ratio

Looks like a candidate post for Engrish.com.

Can you imagine how top heavy a V-6 engine would be in a motorcycle? I think not...

Lemme try that translation. I think I can do better then babelfish:

New, and only from ROTAX, specifically built for (power)sleds: 4 stroke engine with either 800cc or 1300cc displacement. V-engine, thus low COG, 2 cylinder, water cooled. Alternator with 500W. The only 4 stroke engine you can tip without either the engine or the carburator getting flooded. this engine has two oil pumps. one for supply and one for pumping the used oil. These two engines are the most powerful, with the most torque and the lowest noise level in the lineup. The consumption is about 2/3 lower than compared to a typical 2stroke engine.

---

Not the best translation I have done, but that is much closer to what is said than what babelfish produced

not bad, but you must admit, the babel translation would get Joe thinking bout putting one in his GT
