Fuel quick disconnects

I am thinking of using a quick disconnect on a crossover hose on a BMW/2 tank. My question, since I have zero experience with these and a lot of you do, does the disconnect stop fuel flow on both sides?

Thanks, Robert.

Re: Fuel quick disconnects

The BMW style stops the flow on both the female & male connector when disconnected.

These do and no o-rings to replace periodically. Mine are nearly 11 years old and have been trouble free.

Re: Fuel quick disconnects

Yes. Stops fuel flow upon disconnection. But get the metal ones. I got mine from racer parts wholesale for about $70.00 .

No serviceable o-rings, according to the web site. I guess they still have them to seal the fuel, you just can't change them. But they must be very well protected.

Mine are leak-free going on 11 years now. I bought these as they operate like the hydraulic disconnects I used as a logger back in the 70s. If they can withstand hot oil at 3,000 psi, then cool gas at 50 is a piece of cake.
