Question 2001 Radio Problems

Has anyone else had a lot of problems with the radio control panel. Mine has blown a capacitor twice now, it's a pretty expensive repair and a labor extensive project. Has anyone else had this problem, has anyone changed out the radio for a more conventional one. At this point I'm looking for a used radio control panel to switch out the one thats on the bike now hopefully people out here may have some alternate ideas for me thanks

There is no alternative to the RCU that I'm aware of. But you might be able find a used one in a Beemer boneyard or on eBay.
