Phishing from this site

Is anyone else getting incessant redirects from the forum to phishing sites saying you have been randomly selected to win something (that is be ripped off)? I get these almost every visit of late. And only from this site so I suspect the site rather than my device.

Re: Phishing from this site

I get these sometimes on my iPad. It may say something like you have won xxxx. I do not get them on my computer. Maybe because of ad blockers and aint virus/malware software installed.

I suspect the problem may lie with what is now on your computer and is nothing to do with this site.

Bought used K1200LT number 3. This one is green/teal with 31,369(now 7/29/2018 54,143) miles and is an '02. The first 2 bikes made it to near 150,000 miles.

Due to heart health, the Dr says not to ride under 40 degree air temp. Ugh! Now it is harder to get my 18000 miles a year in just in the summer. Guess that stopped my 20 degree rides now.

I don't get them on my computers, just my mobile devices. It could be them, but in that case I would get this behavior from many web sites most likely. I only get them from this site. I am 90% sure it is the site. Probably they get extra revenue or maybe they have been hacked.

Re: Phishing from this site

I use adblock plus on my pc it stops all of these problems, my car club forum has just migrated all the data from vBulletin to Xenforo for this very reason.

Re: Phishing from this site

Although I'm not getting redirected from my laptop, seems every page is loading junk in the background. Watch the lower left hand corner of the screen when you load a new page. The cookies just keep coming and coming. With a clean cache on Firefox, over 1.5 mb of unrequested and unwelcome junk is being loaded in less than a minute.

I live in the hinterlands at near the maximum lengthy allowed for a DSL circuit. I get 1.3 Mbps down on a good day. This is the slowest site I use on a regular basis. What you found explains why.

I constantly get messages that the web page has had an error and must be reloaded. When this happens in the middle of typing a message, I lose the message. I suspect it is simply timeouts due to all of the advertising crap. I now generally compose messages in Notes and then paste into Safari to avoid losing posts that are nearly complete.

I wish there was a decent alternative, but thus far haven't found one. I would abandon this site in a NY minute if I could. It has been terrible since it was sold out to the commercial entity.

I see this every 5-10 minutes when on this site. I almost never see it on other sites.

Re: Phishing from this site

I do not know if this is phishing or not, but attached is what I received last night (Friday, 8-4) on my iPad. When I clicked close, it took me to the second attachment. I think I hit the back arrow to take me back to the post I was reading. Notice the web site at the top of the thread (dabmobi.com). I tried to enter the website into the address bar and got "forbidden".

It appears to only affect iPads. Thankfully, the last few days have been fine.

Agreed. I do not know if it is only a "Friday" type of advertising. I will take more notice the next time it happens. Still have not heard anything from the Admins on this.

Re: Phishing from this site

Hey guys,

Thank you for reporting these. We do have allotted amount of ads that appear on the site but they should not in any way shape or form be intrusive to your user experience. If you encounter pop up ads, redirects and/or video ads that automatically play, these should not be there and we require your assistance in removing these.

Please provide the following details so we can get alert our techs to get rid of these at once:

1. Device/OS/browser you're using (iPad yes, but on safari? Don't want to assume)
2. Geo-location (city/state - we ask for this because often times these are region based)
3. Redirect URL - if you are getting redirect, please copy/paste the URL
4. Screenshot(s)
5. Ad call - this is the best piece of evidence to help locate the source: right click on (or hold down) the ad itself and select either "inspect element" or "view frame source" (whichever you see). A new tab should open and display a bunch of code - copy and paste this code and report it to us.

We apologize for any inconvenience these ads have caused you. Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter.

Cheers,

Natalie

The most annoying part is that if you are in the middle of typing a post you lose your work as the page refreshes after you close the pop-up window.

Then again, I get frequent messages from Safari saying that an error was detected with this web site and the page is being reloaded. This also trashes any post in progress text. I get these errors only with this site. I frequent dozens of sites and this is the only one that generates frequent page errors with iPad edition Safari.

Re: Phishing from this site

Attached are my latest pop-ups. It is a different url from the last time but the same ad. This url is ingmatic.com, where the last time this happened it was dabmobi.com. The second image mentions iPAD and Safari in the first line of text. I am also going to copy and post this reply in the Admin support section and will try to answer their questions as best as I can.

Please provide the following details so we can get alert our techs to get rid of these at once:

1. Device/OS/browser you're using (iPad yes, but on safari? Don't want to assume).
<<iPad and using Safari>>
2. Geo-location (city/state - we ask for this because often times these are region based).
<<Williamsburg, Virginia>>
3. Redirect URL - if you are getting redirect, please copy/paste the URL.
<<The url is at the top of the attached images>>
4. Screenshot(s).
<<See attachments>>
5. Ad call - this is the best piece of evidence to help locate the source: right click on (or hold down) the ad itself and select either "inspect element" or "view frame source" (whichever you see). A new tab should open and display a bunch of code - copy and paste this code and report it to us.
