You Tube Video's of my K1200LT

Hi All,
The links below will take you to two video's I took descending Mt Hotham in Victoria Australia. Mt Hotham is one of Australia's ski areas, and the video starts out near the top of the mountain above the tree line, and continues as we descend the mountain.

These were only a couple of test video's I uploaded to see if they would work. In Part 1 the video faces forward, and in Part 2 the video faces backwards to my mate on his St1100 Honda.

Both video's go for around six minutes. Will give you fella's in the states an idea of what some of our good Aussie bike roads are like.

Sorry, I went into spasms because I couldn't adjust to your driving on the left side of the road...nice scenery though!

I hear Australia might remove the riding glove embargo this year...

wink

Cheers!

Ditto on the driving on left. Real nice video, however. Do you have any idea on your speeds (average/top) during the descent? Cheers.

Camera Setup

Barry,

Care to describe your camera setup? How did you manage a front and a rear view? Two cameras, or did you stop and reposition it? How did you attach the camera to the LT? Thanks.

Wouldn't riding with a kilt on be kinda "breezy" on the neither regions?

Hi Ranger,
Mate I simply had my canon digital video camera mounted on a tripod, so I could have the camera facing either direction, and the tripod was folded up and sitting across the back seat and held in place by a Dri Rider seat bag.
I had an additional bit of foam between the seat and the tripod to stop the tripod from marking the seat.

It worked surprisingly well. I'm just uploading 4 more video's to youtube from the same trip, and will post the links as soon as they are uploaded. These first two video's were just test versions. I've since discovered a much better format to upload them in, so I'll redo these two video's and upload them again so I can see how much better they turn out.

Cheers

Barry

Hi Bill,
The maximum speed limit here in Australia is 110 kph.
On this section of road though the speed limit is 80 kph.
I'm not sure of what speed we were doing ;-) We were having way too much fun!

Here's the link to two other compilations of video footage taken on the same trip

Video 2

Hope these work out better than the first two?

Very cool!! Great scenery, great road!! But I agree with others, the LEFT side of the road is SCARY

That said, one more word, "gloves".

Ah yes, I was a tad naughty not wearing my R/H glove while doing the video footage to start with. I'd had a heap of trouble getting the video camera to start with my right hand glove on (stupid tiny buttons). As a result I missed a lot of great video opportunities that I "thought" were being taped, only to find later the camera hadn't switched on properly. So I rode with the glove off until I perfected how to switch the Camera on while wearing it.

My only punishment was that the back of my hand got bloody sunburnt!

Cheers

After riding a GT for 12K miles now, and having the Ninja before that...all of these LT videos look like they're being played in SLOW MOTION!

Garage
Wrong Side?

Have no idea what they're complaining about Barry... looks quite normal to me..

Now driving in the US at 70mph in 4 or 5 lanes of solid traffic, THAT'S scary....
