Help!! Valves for the First Time

I fear I have created some trouble for myself. I need to change some buckets. Following Kirk's video I thought I had the chain tensioner locked with the 1/8 drill bit.. Only to find out AFTER removing the cam Sprockets that it is in FACT NOT pushed down. What can I do to get out of this mess!!

I was going to simulate putting the sprockets back on before I took out the cams and the buckets.

Thanks In Advance

Re: Help!! Valves for the First Time

I am assuming that you had the piston 1 in the right position (90 degrees BTDC) before removing the camshaft. You can still push the pin in by forcing the oil out of the tensioner with a long screw driver then locking the tensioner. The other option is to move the timing cover and make sure everything is lined up (you will still need to take the tension off the chain). The Clymer manual gives great detail on the procedure.
