Smile Thanks for the input on my purchase questions . . . . . . bought me an LT today!

I wanted to say thanks for the great information that many of you provided in response to my questions on buying an LT both on the forum and via E-mail. Combined with that and some info from the local BMW shop I've used in the past for my ol' '99 F650, I made my decision and bought the bike I was looking at.

It's a 2000 with 31K miles. All of the service has been done at BMW dealers and it has recently had all the fluids replaced (running syntheic oil), new tires put on front and rear and a full service done in May of this year. Two small scratches - one on the top of the rear case and one on the top of the side case - which apparently came from a tool dropping on it in the garage (like my kids have never done that to one of my other bikes ).

There's a picture of it waiting to come to its new home in the GALLERY --> MEMBERS PHOTO GALLERY section under my user name.

Looking forward to getting her home and to an enjoyable time with this new addition.

on the purchase.
You did well.
2000 is the best year.

I just checked you your picture in the gallery. Canyon Red. The fastest color!
You really have the best color of the best year.

Good on ya, Andy. Ride her safe; enjoy the ride; and put CCR '07 at Lake of the Ozarks, MO on your calendar for next year. Sign up should start 'round the first of the year.

Good lookin' color of your scoot, Andy. They don't make that one any more. BTW - on the side of the topcase, what's that leetle emblem thang on the lower half? Just curious, although it might just be a reflection maybe?

Best

Emblem on side case . . . .

Not sure what it's for or what it means but there's a photo of it (a small dragon) on the same page as the bike photo . . . . and one of the scratches

Congratulations on the new bike.

The silver dragon sticker that the previous owner put on your bike indicates he has been to the Tail of the Dragon, a popular bike road in western NC/eastern TN. The stickers are available in different colors at the Deal's Gap motorcycle resort and other locations.

Welcome, Andy.

There are several South Carolinians among the members. Some of us are not married to our first cousins (which is legal in the Palmetto State, donchaknow).

Thumbs up

Congrats on the new bike. BMW has so many crappy colors, it's nice to see that you got one of the good ones.

Congrats on being an owner now. And congrats on the color. I know lots of folks like charcoal, but I wish I coulda found a mauve, red, or green. WE're getting a pretty good group of carolinians now. Even though we're all related. : ) I lived in Lancaster SC (LANXter for the natives) for about a year 10 yrs ago. Nice area, just too flat for me. Used to go to the hobby shop in Rock Hill right often.

Hope to see ya out sometime. Let me know if you;re up around Mt Airy sometime. I'll probably be too busy to ride [as usual - ask the others that have tried], but will try.

Andy, Congratulations!
What a beautiful color...even the chrome grips look great.
Is that a custom seat? Perhaps the scratches could be buffed out? FYI: My wife's boots scratched the top of the R side bag swinging her leg to get off!
If it gets to cold there drop by for a visit down south!

Welcome to the family, great looking ride! I'm sure you're going to love it, although I believe that Champagne is the fastest color. Be safe and get used to the handling.

Congratulations Andy,

The bike will have many unusual qwerks. When you learn to ignore them you will fall in love with the LT. Haven't found a scooter I would trade it for when you take all kinds of riding into consideration.

Hey Andy!

Congrats on the LT. I rode mine for four years and loved it.

Do you know Emily Moose? Was Emily Gardner? She and I worked together when I was in NC. She lives in Rock Hill too. He son Scott was killed by a drunk driver, his wife was put in a coma, and the 2 kids are now being raised by the grand parents. You may have heard about it in the news. The drunk that hit her was a 6-time DUI from Mexico.
