Oddiments box lock will not release

It has happened twice now, lock just will not 'depress' to release. I've been able to go in with a long hex wrench and spring the catch enough to get it open but don't know what the problem is. Anyone else have this problem? I 'fixed' it the first time without knowing how. Was removing plastic to get the stingray off and suddenly it was working. I cannot see where it is binding and it just acts like it is locked (I checked, it is not.....)

Just old, clutchless and clueless

This is the key - on the stingray "tongue" below the latch there are two screws that secure the "tongue" to the seat frame. The screw on the left side MUST be a very short screw or it will bind the electric lock mechanism. You can access this by removing just the little panel under the latch (once you get the lid open). Also there is a bit of up down adjustment on the latch pin in the lid itself. May have to mess with that if it is not a lock issue.

If you push down on the stingray lock at the same time you hit the unlock button on the fob it will usually open. Then you can check the settings and screw length.

This happened to me when the power lock wouldn't disengage. Turns out something in the harness that controls it shorted, and it was a PITA for the delaer to find it. I didn't get into the details with the tech but it was replaced under warranty.

Maybe this is just nature's way of telling you to sell the LT and buy the new Connie.

Hey, Russ... I had same problem.. just use very short screws and don't overtighten... just as Jzeitler stated.

Fixdit

Yessir, that did the trick....I think....

What I dont understand is why it did it the first time, in the middle of a ride, and with the stock length screws? This time it was my fault, 10mm screws instead of the shorties.

Re: Oddiments box lock will not release

Same thing happened to me after removing some tupperware. As mentioned above, itīs the middle left hand screw that needs to be short.

Thanks to everyone for their advise.
