Selling 2001 K1200LTI

I am selling the 2001 K1200, with 20,550 miles on it, and am curious as to which site would be best for listing. Since most of you are already on here, you are probably not interested in another bike for the garage. Anyway, I have compared prices on Ebay and Craigslist and I believe $5000.00 is an acceptable asking price. Here is my listing and what I have found on Ebay.

2001 BMW K1200LTI
20,550 Miles
New Items on Bike:
AVON Tires front and back
Spiegler Brake Lines
Rear brakes (front barely used)
Darius Floorboards 1 3/4" down
Bakup Backrest
Fuel Filter, U Bend, Air Filter
John's Performance Chip- Stage 6
Black Anodized Rear Rack
6 Disc CD Changer (taken out)
Reverse Works Great
Top Latch on Case NOT Broken
Spare Motronic

Flaws:
Minor Scratches (have matching paint for touch up)
Antenna not attached (antenna cord removed)

EBAY Finds:
2001 32,300 $4300
1999 45,600 $4500
2002 60,000 $4000
2002 22,500 $8500
2002 33,600 $5900

Are those asking prices or prices sold at? You do have many good up grades but it is a 15 year old bike with the looming "O-ring" issue. Good luck and sorry to see you selling an old friend. Low miles for sure, will make someone a fine comfortable ride.

I change your tires $50, you buy them on the web.

Re: Selling 2001 K1200LTI

If it's priced right you should be able to sell it quickly. Too many times bikes are priced too high and options are figured in. I sold my 2002 on Craigs list in about a week. Probably priced a bit too low, but the first one to look at it bought it. Too high and you are gambling..

Re: Selling 2001 K1200LTI

I decided to go to test ride some different bikes today. I went to the Harley dealer and they would not let me test ride as I had on shorts. Sat on the Ultra Limited and a couple other bikes, but at 6'4" and pushing the scale on the heavy side, I hated every Harley I sat on. So I then went to the Powersports store that had a large variety of bikes. I sat on a CT50, a K1600, a Honda Goldwing (where did the windscreen go?), and a Concourse. Again, I was highly disappointed with each one compared to what I have.

So I am going to keep riding this wonderful beast for awhile and, if it keeps growing on me, keep her around for a while longer.

That's interesting... I thought that was one part of the two riding outfits they allowed. Guess you needed to be dressed like a pirate...

Are you sure it was a Goldwing and not a Goldwing F6B or a Valkyrie. The F6B is a Goldwing with fewer options and a shorter windscreen, the valkyrie comes sans windscreen.

It was the F6B...my favorite bike ever was the 1989 Goldwing, purple in color, and it at least had a windscreen that protected your body.

The F6B and the valkyrie are both variations of the Goldwing. You can still get the typical 1800 Goldwing but Honda is simply expanding their market by offering a great power plant for multiple riding styles. Plus, I think they are trying to reach a out to younger generations and warm them up to the wing.

Hopefully someday they'll realize that a 6 speed would complement the wing greatly. That's the only complaint I had with my valkyrie. But that was before I realized that there was a k1200lt.
