Yes, that stays open. I do however see an opportunity for another farkle in that picture though. I call it the Norton modification as it first showed up in his Farkle list that I know of. He was riding and had to get off, don't remember what or how severe but his pants leg caught on the reverse lever. Luckily his pants ripped and he was able to either get off or get his foot down, I don't remember the details but after that, he turned the reverse lever upside down. I thought it was such a good idea that i added this Farkle to my bike as well.

That is where you remove the rear engine (transmission really)mount bolt.
