Re: Enough oil in steering damper to puddle up?
Nevermind... I dug deeper and realized that it was the Left that was leaking. Not sure how it ran uphill to the right side, but it did. The fluid in there smelled like what was on my rim (smelled like money / bandaids, haha.) Looks and smells like my very expensive transmission fluid from my ZF transmission in my BMW 325Ci so I guess that's what I'll put back in it. The fluid around (well, all over) the steering damper was the same fluid.
The right side was sealed and the fluid looked excellent but the left side had a little bit of foaming in it and had about 2/3 as much as the right side.
Well, now to wait for the postman to deliver the fork seals and I'll change them out and put it back together.
