power commander

I've read here that the power commander for the K1200RS will work in a LT.Has anyone here actually done this?I have access to a dyno if that is a must do for tuning.

Chris Hodgsen at San Jose BMW did some tuning for the Power Commander specifically for the LT. You may want to check with them on what they have available.A friend of mine has it on his 03 LT and likes the results.

I have them for both of my Guzzi's and love them. As suggested, talk to a tuner first.

I have a friend who is very knowledgable dyno tuning the power commander to Harley applications. What I need to know is if the RS unit is compatible with the LT.David,is your friend's unit the RS unit? From what I have researched it seems a throttle position glitch is the only problem? After years off pumping hell out of the throttle to fire stroker motors it seems like a small price to pay.
I would just as soon order the PCIII thru my friends shop to give him the business.I'm just trying to make sure it will work before sinking valuble farkle money into a questionable results.

The power Commander site shows:

1995-2001 R1100R & R1100RT 916-611

2001-2005 R1150R/RT 918-611
1998-2003 R1150GS 919-611
2000-2004 K1200RS & K1200GT 914-611

Check their site http://www.powercommander.com/ I had one on my Road King and loved it. They have always been great to work with. Cont tact them and see if the have one for the K1200LT.

some research

I have done some research on this, and have found that the RS one will work, ifyou speak with Chris from San Jose BMW he will assist you. There are some issues like the bike not starting on the first try, but it does start after a couple of times. It can be dyno'd and callibrated if need be. Great unit, they were working on the k120lt a while back, but shun away due to folks having startup issues. I was going to get one but depending on the BMW dealer, they might void the warranty if somehting in that area goes wrong. SO I will wait until the warranty is up to get a pc3.

I have one of the beta units for the K1200LT from power comander and have the map they made for me using the dyno. I have an 03 with remus and love it, I am able to dial in economy and power using a slider bar in the software. On the power side I can lift the front wheel off the ground going from 1st to second, and on the economy side can get pretty consistant 50 MPG.

if you get the unit I can send you the map they made me. Just wondering though what software comes with the RS unit, from what I understand there was new software they were using for the K12.

Just Bob.

Did you find any info indicating the impact on our clutch when you set it up to pull the front wheel up from 1st to 2nd?
