For Sale: 2000 K1200LT ($4200) 54K miles

I bought this bike from an estate sale in August of last year, and trailered it home. The previous owner had passed away suddenly from heart disease and he owned 4 motorcycles. This was the nicest one and the only BMW. I was riding a 1999 R1100RT at the time, but my wife wanted more passenger comfort.

Even though I loved my R1100RT, I sold it and bought this one without ever riding a K1200LT based solely on the photos (and owner comments in this forum) just to make my wife more comfortable as a passenger.

As it turns out this the bike is just slightly too tall for me. I can ride it fine, but I can't flat foot it at stops, so carrying a passenger is out of the question. I have only put a couple thousand miles on it since I purchased it. I need something a little closer to the ground for safety, but have to sell this one before I can buy another.

This is a GREAT bike in wonderful condition as long as your inseam is longer than 29 inches.

Features:
-Custom Leather upholstered Bill Mayer seats, driver seat is heated.
-Factory Cruise Control
-ABS Brakes (Working!)
-Metzler Tires in excellent condition
-Center Stand and Side Stand
-New Battery installed (8/15)
-AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, speakers and dual controls front and rear.
-Electrically adjustable windscreen that is crystal clear (practically new Cee-Bailey)
-Grip Puppies
-Heated Grips and Driver Seat
-BMW Height adjustable passenger floorboards option
-Turn signal indicators in both rear view mirrors
-PIAA Driving lights
-BMW Driver/Passenger CB communications intercom system with headsets and headphones (never used it so I don’t know if it works).
-Average Fuel economy has been 46 to 50 MPG since I have owned it.
-Smooth 5 Speed Manual Transmission with Reverse
-Passed VA State Inspection (8/15)
-Headlamp Rock Shield
-Comes with a Trickle Charger to keep your battery in top shape when you are not riding.

I would consider an equivalent condition R1100RT or R1150RT as part trade. The bike is located In Winchester, VA.
Please PM me if you are interested. Thanks, -John

Sounds like you need taller shoes or use the curb to get on and off and then, don't stop! GLWS.

Not taller shoes Jim. Longer legs! I have already researched it and longer replacement legs are not available.

Was the electric center stand an option for earlier (pre '05) models?

She looks great, I love the color.

Beautiful ride, and I think a great price. I'll stick with my RT though. Good luck.

Have you tried a 90-day inversion table? Maybe we should trade bikes. Mine sits really low. The PO must have lowered it.

Powered center stand can be retrofitted but wasn't available in 2000. Jim if yours sits low either your legs are TOO long or your shocks/springs are worn out.

Hmmm, I am 5' 10" with a 29-30" inseam... I haven't measured this recently. I can easily flat foot my LT. Then again, I do wear boots with heels and not sandals when riding. The shock/springs seem to be responding just fine and don't bottom out when running over anything.
